One of the primary functions of Service Connector is job placement. By working with employment sub-contractors, they are able to place CHA residents in full-time jobs and assist in helping them establish economic independence. From January to July of 2004, more than 70 CHA residents were placed in full-time jobs through Service Connector.

Service Connector employs two subcontractors, JBL & Associates and the National Workforce Initiative, to conduct job training and placement of CHA residents. Residents have been placed in permanent jobs at places such as FedEx, O'Hare Airport, the Palmer House Hilton and Walgreen's Pharmacy.

Supportive services are provided for the first month after a client is placed in a new job, including cost coverage for uniforms, transportation and most other transitional expenses.
